For large scale Model Trams i.e. 3/4inch to the foot, the bible has to be Peter Hammond's book.
The book includes a plan for an open top 4 wheel car and plans for various trucks and bogies, all in 3/4inch. It takes you through all the stages of building the car in the plan in wood. It also describes how to build more modern cars using plastic card or metal.
